Artist's notes
"This painting required 361 individual circles to be cut from masking tape and applied over the grid work (plus rather a lot of failed circles, as they are very fiddly to cut). As always when working with gradients, there is zero tolerance for error in terms of colour accuracy in the paint - the last thing you can afford is to run out of a shade midway through the painting, so I had to mix up 10 individual tubs (one per shade) in advance."
